On Saturday, November 23 at 11 AM, the Meredith Public Library will hold an open house to celebrate the New Hampshire Library Trustees Association awarding the library the title of New Hampshire Small Library of the Year.
Fun events will happen throughout the inside of the library and outside on library grounds. Inside highlights include the award presentation followed by cake and refreshments. Attendees will want to visit the Maker Space for easy DIY projects they can work on themselves and bring home. Special limited edition library souvenirs will be available at no charge as keepsakes.
Tours of the library will be available for anyone who hasn't seen the building since the renovations or anyone new to town looking to explore the library for the first time.
Activities taking place outside include a visit from Stella, the miniature horse. Stella makes regular visits to the library, always drawing a huge crowd of adoring fans of all ages. A drone will fly overhead to take pictures of the crowd in a community photo on the front lawn.
Participants will also get the chance to be part of a "Good Morning, New Hampshire" video for WMUR. The TV station asks local groups to get together and film a short cheerful video identifying the group, location, and reason for gathering. At the end, the group shouts with enthusiasm, "Good morning, New Hampshire!" The library will submit the video to WMUR for inclusion in their News 9 Daybreak program.
