Erin Apostolos-Library Director
Erin has been working in libraries since 1993 and received her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College in Boston and is a Certified Public Library Administrator. She has worked as a children's librarian, a library media specialist in an elementary school and as an assistant director at a library consortium before coming to the Meredith Public Library. She is also a genealogist, receiving a certificate from Boston University in Genealogical Research in 2010.
Matthew Gunby-Circulation Librarian
Matthew has lived in the Lakes Region all his life. As an undergraduate he received degrees in English and Philosophy from Plymouth State University, and spent a semester abroad in Wales. In 2012, he received a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University, and completed an internship at the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica. His first experience at the Meredith Library was as a volunteer, followed by taking minutes for the Master Plan Committee and Board of Trustees. In 2014, he began as a library aide and is now the head of circulation. His professional interests include library advocacy, outreach, digital literacy, and innovative uses of library space. He is in charge of ordering large print books, helps to maintain the fiction collection, and is the direct supervisor of the circulation desk.
Karen-Assistant Youth Services Librarian
Karen worked in local retail shops and ran her own daycare for twenty years before coming to the Meredith Public Library. Her skill with children naturally saw her gravitate to the children's room where she is in charge of the collection and classes for children from birth through second grade. She is a life-long resident of Meredith.
Joyce received her Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Florida. She worked for a small library in Texas before relocating to Meredith. You can usually find her at the front desk helping patrons, and behind the scenes she is responsible for the calendar and new books sections of the newsletter, printing copies of the newsletter and various brochures, and the new books list.
Kay-Youth Services Library Aide
Kay received her degree in Elementary Education from Framingham State University and has twenty years experience teaching children from preschool age through fifth grade. Her love of children and books drew her to a position in the Youth Services division of the library. She loves to sew and spends much of her spare time in front of her sewing machine.
Christopher Leland-Assistant Library Director
Christopher received his Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science from Southern Connecticut State University and has many years of library experience. Before coming to Meredith he worked at Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University and Oxford Public Library, Oxford, CT. Chris is in charge of cataloging most of the library collection, trouble-shooting daily computer issues, and teaching technology classes to staff and patrons. He is responsible for the DVD collection and orders much of the non-fiction material.
John grew up right here in Meredith, and spent almost every Saturday at the library from the time he could read until he graduated from ILHS in 2002. Since then, John has been working and studying all over New England, received a degree in English Literature from UNH, and has done extensive work towards a Masters degree in Secondary Education. John has been working in libraries for many years, holding positions in both public and academic institutions, and gaining experience in circulation, media collections, and youth services. Most recently, John was the Teen Services Assistant at the Amesbury Public Library. John is excited to be able to return to his hometown, and looks forward to guiding the evolving teen/tween scene here at the MPL. John is in charge of the children's and teen collection and classes from third grade through high school.
Cherie received a Master's in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She is in charge of the Home Bound program and Inter-library Loans. She also helps out in the children's room and processes children's books.
Linda - Library Aide
Linda received her Bachelor of Arts from Plymouth State University in 2011. A great lover of history and art, she majored in History with a minor in Art History. She spent many years helping out at her family’s small antique business in Meredith, NH and is a lifelong resident. Linda spends her time helping out at the desk, shelving, and with the displays featured around the building. Her free time is spent reading many books and collecting historical photographs.
