About the Friends
Mission Statement: The mission of the Friends of the Meredith Library is to promote library involvement in the community and community involvement in the library.  We will achieve this mission by fundraising, volunteering, sponsoring activities and creating programs of interest to the community.

The Friends continue to sponsor the library's museum pass program, the Ancestry.com subscription, the Humanities Council lecture series, the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Programs, various classes and events for all ages and continuing education for library staff.  In addition the Friends help to plant and maintain the library gardens in front and behind the building each year.

Continuing fundraising activities include book sales (will resume after the renovation/addition to the Library is completed in 2021) and book shelf sales at various antique shops in the area.

If you would like to join the Friends, please download a Membership Form and return it to the library.  New members will receive a free Friends of the Library tote.

If you would like to volunteer for the Friends, please download a

Volunteer Form and return it to the library.

Friends’ Used Books for Sale – Book Den

On Wednesdays (9-4), Fridays (9-2) and Saturdays (9-1.30) visit the Friends’ of the Meredith Public Library gently used bookstore – The Book Den.  The Bookstore is a lovely area in the basement of the library (formerly the Function Room) which contains a vast amount of books for sale. Children’s books, paperbacks,  youth, adult fiction, biographies, non -fiction, puzzles, and CDs are available by donation to the Friends.  If you’re looking for a new gardening or cooking book and don’t wish to spend more than a few dollars…come to the Book Den.  Some ‘special’ books do have a very low price inside the front cover.

Proceeds from the Book store provide events for our Library.
