Artsy Saturdays – Sat. Jan. 7th between 10-1pm Crayon Resist (2012 New Year's Craft)

This is fun time for children and adults to enjoy together!  Discover different art concepts, create, and then take them home for display!  Creativity affords children a sense of self which in turn builds self confidence.

 

 

Get Carded at MPL! - Sat. Jan. 21st between 10am-1pm

An open house to celebrate our youngest and newest patrons!  If your child is six years old or in the first grade, this is for you.  We will be issuing library cards and taking the guesswork out of finding things in the library.  Come by for a tour, a craft and a little treat!  We’ll see you there!

Children Ages 0-3!

Tot Time Miss Karen will meet with our youngest patrons in this program suited just for them each Friday morning at 9:30am in the function room.  She will read and help them to create a craft relating to her story.  A snack will be served.  Please note that any younger siblings are welcome as “babies love babies”!

ABC and ME- Wed. @ 10am and Thurs. @ 1pm

Stories, crafts, songs and games geared toward children aged 3-5.  Each class will feature one letter of the alphabet.  Children are encouraged to bring an item from home that starts with the letter of the week.  Classes teach letter recognition, listening comprehension, build vocabulary and encourage positive social skills.

 Jan. 4th and 5th – Letter “K”

Jan. 11th and 12th – Letter “L”

Jan. 18th and 19th – Letter  “M”

 

From Snowball to Snowman Wed. Jan. 25th @ 10am and Thurs. Jan. 26th @ 1pm

Discover what makes a snowman “good stuff” in this special class featuring Lois Ehlert’s wonderful book Snowballs!  Stories, crafts, songs and games geared toward children aged 3-5.

Snow Many Legos! Drop by the Children’s Room anytime between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd or Tuesday, Jan. 10th to create and build! Don’t forget to pick up your favorite books while you are here! If you want, we’ll take a picture of you and your creation to be put on display in the Children’s Room at the library!
